OKLAHOMA CITY, OK. (January 12, 2015) – While participating in its first annual food drive, Affiliated Movers of Oklahoma City collected 418 pounds of food for the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank, which is enough for 348 meals to feed hungry families in the Oklahoma City area.
The event organized by Concordia Life Care Community, Senior Transitions, and Affiliated Movers of OKC, was held during the month of December. Terrace lounge Thunder basketball tickets and other prizes were raffled to encourage the local community to donate non-perishable food.
“We are overjoyed by the success of our first annual food drive and the spirit of community all of our participants and sponsors displayed,” said Nathan Howell, sales manager at Affiliated Movers. “This food will provide hundreds of meals to local families here in OKC through the Regional Food Bank.”
This year Affiliated Movers joined “Move For Hunger,” a charity that works with relocation companies nationwide. As a representative for Move For Hunger, Affiliated will continue to accept non-perishable donations from its customers, while containerizing and delivering the food to the local food bank at no charge.
